As I said before the Lord gave me “Living Abundantly Ministries” and I know that in order to do what He has called me to do, I have to be a Living Testimony…..  For Him to do a “hard” thing for me He had to renew my “heart” By Any Means Necessary.  I am grateful that He has chosen me.  Living Abundantly is not just having material things and being grandiose, but it is about finding your place in God and living according to His Word and His Will.  Doing what you are placed on this earth to do and using your gifts and talents for the building of God’s Kingdom.

I would always hear the Spirit of God say:  “You take care of my business and I will take care of Yours”.  God is so great that He has answered prayers that I had forgot I had prayed.  But God is Faithful.. when we are obedient He never forgets….

I will be using this blog to write words of encouragement not just to you but for myself also….

“He Came That I Might Have Life and Life More Abundantly”

Understand that it is the job of the enemy, Satan himself, to make sure that our lives are as uncomfortable as they can be and it is also his job like any other animal to seek us out as “prey”.  However though, unlike the animals in the jungle who usually goes after the weakest animal as “prey” — satan seeks out the strongest.  You see he knows that if you take out the strongest one you have the rest… you have seen the old Western movies in which they depicted that if you take out the Indian Chief the others flee.

Well, I believe that this is a twofold senario.  I believe that satan sought me out as “prey” because He knows the plans that God has for me and he wants to stop them now.  But at the same time I believe that God allowed this attack because He knows what He has poured into me.  God does not set us up for a test that we cannot and will not pass.  He will never give His children’s lives over to the enemy to allow him to say aha!!!  So one way out is Prayer.  So when the enemy tries to seek me out as “prey” … I then go to God and PRAY.  All the enemy succeeded in doing was to make me seek more of God.   God does not make us sick, or kill us or do any thing to us that will not bring Him Glory but He does allow us to go through things that will settle, strenghten and establish us.

Through this experience, I have gained insight and wisdom.  I have more understanding of relationships between family and friends and why we need each other in our lives.  We can only do the work God has required us to do by reaching and touching His people — those He has assigned in our lives and this is what I will do.

When you are being chased and preyed upon by the enemy or the cares of this world, don’t give us…. JUST PRAY!!!!

With all of the fuss about the Imus issue…… It came to me that it probably is no coincidence that if said slowly his name reads… I mus…. (I must)..

Everybody had an opinion one way or the other regarding this issue so why should I be any different.  Although it is true that the Rap Culture needs to clean up their act, change their language and the way that they view and refer to women/girls/ladies – Imus has to be held accountable for his actions as an individual.

I can’t go out and murder someone and use the excuse that the media has been airing serial killers who have been telling their stories of how they got away with murder.  If I do, I am most certain that if caught, I will be locked up and expected to pay the penalty (there is a consequence for my actions).

We must remember that Imus is not some impressionable teenager or young adult and this was not his first or only infraction.  He is a grown man (not mature adult) who has been sprewing this type of insensitive language for years — way before the rap culture became popular (who did we blame then?)

Imus needs to be more like the sound of his name.. “I-mus”

“I-mus watch what I say about others”; “I-mus be more concerned about people’s feelings”; I-mus respect others regardless of race, creed, religion or color”; “I-mus think before I speak”.

We all need to learn to watch our language and our speech and our opionions.  Think — if what I am about to say is necessary or not or will it hurt the other individual that I am talking about — if it may–  then KYMS – (Keep Your Mouth Shut!!)

We all have to stop finger pointing and work together to gain more respect for each other, especially Christians.  If we start to respect, love and honor our leaders and one another we can truly change a generation.

Our Church Family Retreat is focusing on the family and getting “Back to the Basics” as God intended.  We have strayed so far away from the Garden and fellowship with God that the enemy has truly been unleashed “as a roaring lion!”

Let’s take it all back!!

Wow, I just love this. First of all, it lets me know that regardless of what my/your situation or circumstance is right now, whatever I/you am/are going through — Jesus has already gone through and defeated it. Every test and trial that we go through in this world Jesus has already been given the taste test. He has tasted it, tested it, and passed it so therefore we are capable of passing the test too. He says greater things will you do — now that I have gone to the Father. He is our strength and our interceder and He is praying for us to make it. We must however stay on the escape route that He has mapped out for us.

I also know that what I am going through someone else, somewhere in this world has either gone through it or is going through it or is being prepared to go through it. It is not just a personal attack on me/us as an individual, but an attack on God’s people as a whole. But know that God in His infinite wisdom knew what we will come up against and He knew what would come up against us…. so He placed us on a specific path and route to be able to get out of (escape) when it was time.

What happens is most of us try to come off of the path too soon. We want to make our escape before we are ready. And because we are going against the grain of what God has for us — it seems very hard and rocky. We want to escape the trail or path and venture onto the street, the avenue, the highway, the freeway, the throughway, and the the turnpike when God knows that we are not yet ready for those routes. He needs to keep us on the narrow path to protect us, to guide us around a lot of the obstacles, bumps, stoplights and wrecks that are often (not seen until it is too late) on the big streets.

He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear. We try to come out too soon, but God knows that we can bear/stand just a little bit more. He knows that the oven or the water is not too hot for you to stay in, you not fully baked, you are not completely clean — so He does not want you up against a temptation that you are not ready to handle. And He says that He will us that same temptation to bring you out. So the same thing that is holding you down is going to be the same thing that will set you free when its your time.

It just seems to you like you have been in too long but I am a living witness that when it is time, God will certainly pull you out for He knows just how much you can bear.

Umm… Looking at the portion of the movie or camp that I saw is not enough to decide whether it is good or bad, right or wrong??? …. However, like Bro. Devron Grant, some portions of what they do seems to be to the extreme. We have to be careful not to do those things that will drive a wedge further into Christianity than it already is… We must remember that this is the end times and false doctrines, beliefs, and activities will spring up everywhere to bring confusion.

First of all…. why worship to a picture of President Bush or anyone’s picture. The Bible clearly states that there should be no other gods before me and that God will not give His Glory nor share it with anyone else. While it is true that Jesus needs to come back into the lives of our children and into our homes and into our schools — unless you also save and change the parents it will not do any good. The focus should be on families.

It is through the family that God will restore, bless and multiply. It was through the first family that God intended to create a people like Himself — He started with man (Adam, be fruitful and multiply)- then woman – then the children. When man messed up — He started again, still through family. Noah, his wife and his children. The promise and the covenant was continued through the father. Be fruitful and multiply.

When he got ready to elect a people for Himself that would show forth His Glory and goodness… He chose Abraham…. In the New Testament a family was chosen (Joseph and Mary). It was not God’s intention that the children would bring the family to Him but that the family would bring the children. It seems that the youth leaders are the leaders and it is the responsibility of the youth leader to continue and assist with the spiritual growth of the children (I believe that so don’t get me wrong) – but where are the parents in all of this?

I am concerned about how we are using so many of the tactics of the world and bringing it into the church. Children are impressionable — we do have to be careful.

My advice: Parents bring your children with you to church, read the Bible with them together and worship with them. Don’t use church school, youth groups and youth camps as a baby sitting service.

I am reminded of a popular song that says: “Every breath you take, every move you make and every step you take I’ll be watching you. Sounds like a stalker to me — unless we are talking about the one who has created and fashioned us.

Just realize that every day in our everyday comings and goings that is exactly what Jesus is saying to us…. He watches us in order that He may lead, guide, comfort, protect, chastise, judge or punish whichever we may need at the time. 24/7 365 days a year — He says: “I’ll Be Watching You”

Psalm 121:3-8 (NIV) — He won’t let your foot slip. He who watches over Israel (that’s His people) won’t get tired or go to sleep. The LORD watches over you. The LORD is like a shade tree at your right hand. The sun won’t harm you during the day. The moon won’t harm you during the night. The LORD will keep you from every kind of harm. He will watch over your life. The LORD will watch over your life no matter WHERE YOU GO, both now and forever.

We seem to think that because we can’t see Him around physically that we are off the hook. We sneak and try to do things behind our Pastors’, our friends’, our Leaders’ our bosses’ or families’ backs not realizing that all the time that God is standing right behind your back. He is an all-seeing and all-knowing God who “watches” and “records” and “judges” all that we do!!!

I’LL BE WATCHING YOU — SO BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY WHAT YOU DO AND WHERE YOU GO.

Thought Question: If God was here in your presence where you could see Him as He sees you — would you change your habits — Think about it!!!

The wheat and the tares represent….
The Good and the Bad..
The Right and the Wrong…
The Flesh and the Spirit….

It takes the enemy to confuse us and get us to the point where we cannot tell the good from the bad and the right from the wrong. Look at the condition that the world is in today. Men (generic) are calling right wrong and wrong right. It’s wrong to talk about God or Jesus in school, but it is right for the kids to curse (cuss) because they are just expressing themselves. There are a lot of examples where the enemy has sown the wrong thing into the minds of the right people…..

Now if you would just think about it… the ‘enemy’ that I fight so much is “in-a-me”. It is in my mind, it is in my will. I can will myself if I choose not to do or believe that which the enemy sows into my mind, my spirit and my heart. Is it easy — not all of the time — for Paul said that when I would do good, evil presses on every hand. But that’s why Paul then admonishes us to crucify the flesh daily. Every day when we get up we should hang that flesh on the cross. Some of us have hung the flesh on the cross but we have not yet buried it so that it can ressurrect.

The next time the enemy tries to sow the wrong thing into you…. let him know that ‘in-a-me’ is greater than what you are trying to sow… I will not fall for that trick. Yes, it would be easier if God would just remove or move those things that nag and pester us, those things that trap us and trip us up, those things that make us just act like a pure fool — it would be so much easier. In the case of the farmer, his servants wanted to go out and pull the tares out of the wheat but the farmer said leave them alone and at harvest time — I will do the separating.

What am I saying. The good and the bad will exist, the right and the wrong will exist, the flesh and the Spirit is warring everday– but you have to know how to separate it. Repeat after me…. From this point on in my life— I will learn how to crucify the ‘enemy’ that is ‘in-a-me’.

Think about it… In the world they share what they have. I would always see the alcoholics standing around the liquor store drinking from the same bottle. When that one was gone they would pool their money and go get another bottle. Everyone contributed according to what they had whether it equaled the other man’s or not. (We forgot how to share when we got saved and joined church).

The drug addicts shared, knew each other and watched out for each other’s property. They spoked to each other, waved from across the street, etc. (We forgot these things when we we got saved….)

Why is it that the Christians don’t understand this secret? It is a known secret that has been forgotten. Why? Because somehow the enemy has tricked us into thinking that the personality that we had in the world had to be completely forgotten and changed when we accepted Jesus. The enemy doesn’t want you to know that it was that very personality that God placed in you so that when you realized your place you would use it to free His people. That “loud mouth” you had in the street — use it to preach God’s word or to evangelize. That “dance” you had in the street — use it to praise God. That “natural leadership” ability — use it to lead God’s people. That knowing everything and loving to tell people what to do — use it to teach God’s people. Don’t get rid of it.

Satan wants you to think that God can’t use these qualities…. He wants you to think that all of those things belong to him. Well, the other secret is — satan doesn’t own a thing. All he has are those one-third angels that fell with him and if they ever learn that he has nothing to give them and no power they will leave him too.

Another secret– satan is much more afraid of you than you are of him, but he doesn’t want you to know that. He is afraid of you being delivered and stepping into your purpose because then you become a threat to his kingdom. Learn to treat satan like the piece of lint that keeps hanging on your shirt sleeve. Take your finger and pluck him off…. Learn to tell him that he is in the wrong place, he’s messing with the wrong family and he is trying to do the wrong thing to the right person.

God had given me a charge and a spirit for the family and bringing people together. I believe that love can prevail. I just believe that God’s love can reign and rule in this world. But I also believe that we (the Christians) must start it in us, in our families and in our churches.

Key Verse — Judges 5:12: “Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song.

Women have been in the news now for more than a hundred years so it is not amazing that women are now coming forth with power and conviction. For some reason, it seems to bother people that God has raised up women who are willing, able and capable to bring forth His word and work in His vineyard. There are those who even use scripture to try and justify why God “could not” and “would not” call a woman to teach, preach, Pastor, etc.

The role of the prophetess Deborah lets us know that women in ministry is not anything new. God does endow some women with superior gifts and for such women, as Deborah, even men will step aside or follow in her train. God raised up Deborah in response to a great need. He needed someone to intercede on behalf of His people.

Even today, in most churches, we find that it is the women who are willing to stay all night if need be to cry, pray and stand in the gap for God’s people.

God sent Deborah in response to the Israelites prayers during their time of oppression. Things had become so bad that the only alternative and way out for this nation was to look up and return to God. They cried out to God and He heard and provided a deliverer in the person of — strong-minded Deborah. This nation had no problem receiving Deborah as God’s choice because it was in her ear that they poured out their troubles. They knew her to be a courageous, wise and godly woman, and they cried, “Awake, awake, Deborah, awake, awake, utter a song,” that we are sore distressed and deeply humbled may sing again the glorious praises of the great I AM. (They wanted to hear from her!)

“I Deborah Arose” — She responded to the call, the need, the urgency. This strong and courageous woman became Israel’s Joan of Arc to rout the enemy and restore freedom. Notice that before she became a prophetess and great in war, she was a homemaker, a mother in Israel. She had a heart touched with compassion for not only her family, but for all of Israel.

God does know the heart and He will call you accordingly. I dare you to sincerely have compassion for God’s people; I dare you to really care; to grieve because of oppression and unfairness. Try it and see won’t God call you to make a difference!

The suffering of Deborah’s people brought her to her knees before the same God that called her to exercise her faith and follow her heart. As a prophetess she talked to her faint-hearted people about God and His power to help. She predicted deliverance if they would only turn back to Him.

This was not the first time that Israel was in trouble but this was the first time that the deliverer was a woman — God called Deborah to become the first Judge. She became known throughout the country and people came from far and near to where she held her court under a stately palm tree (a symbol of prosperity, strength and victory). As a judge and prophetess, she was an inspired woman and the task she had was great because she had to convince people to again return to God. People who came to her for counsel, instruction and comfort left filled with hope for a better day. She was able to stir up the people because she had a sparkling, magnetic personality and above all she had a dauntless spirit. Deborah became great because she saw a need and did something about it — in the same way she mothered her children — she took that mothering gift and mothered the people of God and the land had rest for forty years.

I urge you to read the story of Barak and Deborah in Judges 5 and see that the general refused to go and fight the enemy unless Deborah went with him. The song of Deborah, which she wrote and sang with Barak, is one of beauty and power. In it she praises the faithful warrior but most of all she exhorts God and gives Him the praise for the victory.

May we, as Deborah awaken to the need of the Kingdom of God, arise to do our part and march with the Lord of Hosts to victory.

God placed so much in their faces and allowed them to feast on and enjoy the best that life could offer, but because one little “do not touch” was issued — what they had was not good enough.  They thought that they needed to know more.

Curiosity and wandering off track gets us in a lot of trouble.  God does not stop us from doing things that He has already told us not to do.  If we think that we know what is best for us, then He allows us to try and be ‘god’ over our own lives.  Everytime I try to take God’s role in my life, I mess it up.  Sometimes we think that our choices are good only to find out that God’s choice was better.  Then enters the consequence of that choice.  Most of the time the consequences of our choices are more devastating than we can bear……  and they linger around a little longer than we want them to.  We try to go on with our lives, but consequences follow us — even into our changed lives.  Yes, I thank God that He does forgives us and gives us another chance — but do remember that those consequences sometimes just won’t let you forget.  THEY ARE THERE TO STAY. 

So the next time that you have a choice — THINK ABOUT IT……… Make sure that it lines up with God’s plan for your life.
